Outside of this blog, I am available for feature and content writing work. I like to work on different projects that keep me interested and on my toes, and while my focus of the week might change, the passion I have for each project stays strong.
I have researched and written guidebook coverage for Lonely Planet, written feature articles for Broadsheet Media & WeBase Hakata, and contributed a personal essay and recipe to Australia’s first Filipino-Australian anthology: ‘The Calamansi Story’. I also create literary pieces and develop recipes on my Substack, as well as ongoing travel and lifestyle posts for this blog.
If you’re interested in working together or would like to learn more about what I do, I’d love to chat!
Testimonial:

“Over the last three years, I’ve worked with Emmylou to produce three of Lonely Planet’s Australia guidebooks. It goes without saying that Lonely Planet writers need to have great writing and research skills – but the unique nature of their work also requires administrative prowess (trip planning and budgeting), alongside the ability to navigate and understand documentation and processes. It can be a steep learning curve for new writers, but Emmy took it on with warmth and professionalism, producing copy that are our editors called “reassuring to readers, engaging and lovely.””
